TUTORIAL: How To Rank A Website For Its Domain Name

It can be very frustrating for one to buy a domain name and not be able to rank for
it on google.

Google has made it in such a way that each
website must rank no. 1 for its domain or
something very close in terms very competitive keywords. People have taken advantage of this to buy keyword rich
domains, though; I am not a fan of this. How
about a situation where you purchase a
domain name, and it's some weeks or months old, and yet when someone searches
for your domain on Google, your site won't
pop up? It's rare, but it happens.
First of all, let's see the possible reasons
why a website may not be
ranking for it's

Age: This can be one of the primary
reasons for such occurrences. A website
that is two days old may not be able to
rank for its domain for a while. In this case,
you just have to give it some time, and it
will pass.
Your website is facing Ban: In situations where Google has banned your site and cleared your pages from its index, you will not be able to rank for your very domain name again because as far as Google is concerned, you don't exist. You can choose
to see it as, what Google does not have in
its index, it cannot bring out in the search
results, so first check to make sure that the
domain is not facing Google penalty!

1. Change Home to Sitename in the
Navigation bar/ Breadcrumb: This works. If
you are using a blog, there is usually a
provision, made for breadcrumbs like the one
we have here. Just in case there is none, you
can use plugins to create them.

very well as it shows where the user is on
the site on the preceding pages. This way,
the user can easily navigate through the
website.
What you have to do is only go to the
Navigation bar settings and replace the
Home text with your website name. By so
doing, the first link in the breadcrumb will
have the anchor text as your website name.
Google uses this breadcrumbs often, and it
will start taking note of the fact that your
website homepage is related to the name
you typed in place of Home. This way you
will rank no. 1 for your domain name.
Does this have any adverse effects? No,
it doesn't. It is perfectly safe to do so.
2. Link to the Homepage from internal
posts with the website name as anchor

This works too. You can combine it with
the above to make the process faster. Again
it's perfectly safe, but you have to make sure
that you are not overusing this technique.
Is this safe? Yes, it's perfectly safe to do so.
From the above, you have seen that it may
seem like it's all about getting backlinks but
it's not that. I can't prove it, but it's more
than just
getting backlinks.
Note: You should only use the methods listed
here if you are anxious to get your domain
ranking for its name. Don't forget that Google
will always rank you high for your domain
name whether or not you do them. SO, use
